J. Sheppard Associates, a respected New York City law firm, seeks a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Associate with 4–7 years of experience to join its established practice representing property owners, developers, landlords and real estate investors.
You will work directly with a senior partner, handling disputes from inception to resolution, drafting motions, conducting discovery and depositions, negotiating settlements and advising clients in a hybrid work environment.
Our client, a highly regarded midsized New York City law firm, is seeking an accomplished Commercial Real Estate Litigation Associate with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its established and successful practice representing prominent commercial property owners, developers, institutional landlords and real estate investors in sophisticated litigation matters.
Working directly with a highly respected senior litigation partner, the Associate will handle significant real estate disputes involving commercial lease enforcement, landlord-tenant litigation, Yellowstone injunctions, guaranty claims, commercial mortgage foreclosures, construction disputes and other complex commercial real estate matters.
This opportunity is particularly attractive to a motivated litigator who wants to take ownership of matters from inception through resolution, develop and recommend litigation strategies, draft and argue substantive motions, conduct discovery and depositions, negotiate settlements and work directly with clients. The partner values independent judgment, initiative and attorneys who anticipate developments, challenge assumptions and bring thoughtful recommendations to the table.
The ideal candidate will have meaningful commercial litigation experience, preferably involving real estate owners, developers, landlords or lenders, together with excellent drafting, advocacy and analytical skills. Experience in commercial landlord-tenant litigation is highly desirable, although attorneys with broader complex real estate litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Admission to the New York Bar is required. Compensation ranges from $230K to $275K+++, including a liberal bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package. The position offers a hybrid schedule. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious commercial real estate litigator who wants to take ownership of significant matters, build lasting client relationships and work alongside a senior partner who values initiative, sound judgment and independent thinking.
