Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP in Denver seeks a collaborative Counsel, Commercial Contracts to provide strategic legal counsel across procurement contracting. This hybrid role partners with Legal, Procurement, Operations, IT, Marketing and HR to review and negotiate a high volume of contracts.

The successful candidate will draft, negotiate, and review services, confidentiality, SaaS, licenses, HR/benefits, technical, and AI-related contracts while maintaining firm standards.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting and negotiating supplier and technology contracts.
• Strong grasp of contract terms, regulatory requirements, IT and data management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Strong project and time management with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review a wide variety of commercial and technical contracts with a risk-based approach.
• Partner across the firm to streamline procurement and contracting processes and relationships.
• Ensure contract intake is complete and business-ready for review.
• Support Procurement with SLAs, training, playbooks, and practical guidance.
• Advise on supplier contracts, risk management, terms, and disputes.
• Escalate complex legal and risk matters to appropriate firm counsel.

Juris Doctor (JD)
