Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Counsel, Commercial Contracts to provide strategic legal counsel across the procurement contracting pipeline. The role emphasizes reviewing and negotiating a high volume of diverse agreements, including services, confidentiality, SaaS, licenses, HR/benefits, and AI-related contracts.

The position is hybrid and requires legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor with active license in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of contract legal counseling experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating supplier and technology contracts for global organizations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review a wide variety of commercial and technical contracts.
• Partner across the firm to streamline procurement and contracting processes.
• Ensure contract intake is complete and business-ready for review.
• Support Procurement with SLAs, playbooks, and legal guidance.
• Advise on supplier contracts, risk, terms, and disputes.
• Escalate complex legal and risk matters to firm counsel.
• Develop and maintain supplier contracting policies and templates.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update practices.
• Provide contracting training and knowledge-sharing across the firm.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
