Job summary

Badger Talent Solutions in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Cost Accountant for a hybrid, full-time role close to the manufacturing operations. You will own standard costs, inventory valuation, cost standards, and margin analysis, while partnering with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing to improve profitability.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail.

• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for manufactured products, materials, and subcontracted work
• Manage monthly inventory valuation, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Partner with Engineering and Purchasing on costing for new products and engineering changes
• Prepare and analyze product margins, COGS, PPV, and job costs
• Support Sales and Marketing with product costing and pricing analysis
• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and other cost accounting activities

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to the manufacturing operation. You'll take ownership of product costing, inventory valuation, cost standards, and margin analysis, while partnering closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing.

• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing


• Strong Excel and analytical skills


• Detail-oriented with excellent organization and communication skills


• CPA is a plus, but not required
