Illinois Defense Counsel is seeking a Corporate Associate to join our transactional practice in a hybrid role from Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, or Boston.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of corporate and transactional experience, including M&A, venture capital, and financing, with strong drafting and due diligence skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of general corporate and transactional experience in a law firm setting.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, financing transactions, joint ventures, and drafting/negotiating transaction documents.
• Self-starter with ability to manage due diligence and work in a team on complex transactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist on mergers, acquisitions, venture capital and financing transactions.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents with clients and opposing counsel.
• Coordinate due diligence investigations and respond to diligence requests.
• Collaborate with partners and associates across offices on complex matters.
