Job summary

StevenDouglas has partnered with a Northern Virginia construction and engineering company to hire a Controller. This hybrid role (3 days onsite) reports to the Founder/President and requires hands-on leadership with a small staff.

The Controller will manage all accounting and finance operations, provide strategic guidance, and participate in senior management discussions as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience in finance and accounting operations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other tools.
• Construction accounting experience including project-based accounting and job costing.

Responsibilities

• Month End Close
• Financial Reporting (Management and Project)
• Payroll/AP/AR
• Liaison with Government Agencies and Auditors
