University of Miami is seeking a Contracts and Grants Officer 2 in a hybrid capacity to independently negotiate research contracts in line with sponsor requirements and university policy. The role supports departmental portfolios, advises faculty, and coordinates across IRB, risk management, technology transfer, and general counsel to ensure compliant, timely execution of sponsored projects.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred), a CRA credential

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of contracting experience, including sponsored/unfunded research and outbound subawards.
• Knowledge of NIH, DOD, NSF, NASA, DOE, Uniform Guidance, Export Control Regulations, and FAR.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong customer service.
• Strong contract negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines with accuracy and integrity.

Responsabilidades

• Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate terms for research contracts per University guidelines.
• Provide guidance to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration issues.
• Collaborate with IRB, Risk Management, Technology Transfer, Export Control, General Counsel, and other offices.
• Adhere to University policies and safeguard assets.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting the contracts portfolio.
