Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. in Atlanta is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – Contract Surety. This highly technical, market-facing role requires experience with surety lines and about 25% travel.

You will underwrite and analyze accounts, seek new business, partner with brokers, and follow Zurich's underwriting framework within delegated authority. The position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting or market facing area
HS diploma or equivalent with 6+ years in claims or underwriting support
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 1+ year in underwriting or market facing area
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 4+ years in claims or underwriting support
Knowledge of Surety line/s of business and regulatory guidelines
Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

Production and underwriting of new Surety accounts and existing business
Internal marketing and cross-sell support within Zurich North America
Execution of the external marketing strategy
Adherence to underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and Zurich policies
Establish new and develop existing agency and broker relationships
Work within delegated authorities on assignments of varying complexity
