Job summary

Divers Alert Network (DAN) is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Marketing and Communications team in content development across channels. You’ll work directly with the Manager, Communications and Marketing to amplify the organization’s mission and engage members through storytelling and polished materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
• 1–3 years in communications, marketing, or digital content creation.
• Strong writing and storytelling across short/long form.
• Editing and proofreading with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices.
• Organizational and time management skills for multiple deadlines.
• Willingness to complete Open Water Diver eLearning within two months.

Responsibilities

• Develop communications materials advancing organizational priorities and membership programs.
• Draft and edit blogs, newsletters, website copy, podcast descriptions, and ads.
• Proofread and QA materials to ensure brand voice and standards.
• Research basics and verify content with internal experts.
• Support day‑to‑day social media publishing across platforms.
• Monitor engagement and provide insights for optimization.
• Contribute to social content ideation, photography, and short video ideas (not required).
• Coordinate content review workflows and maintain organized documentation.
• Assist with content calendars and team meeting notes.
