Job summary

Mauch Chunk Trust Company in Jim Thorpe, PA is seeking a detail-oriented Consumer Loan Processor & Closer to manage processing and closing of residential mortgage, home equity, and consumer loans.

You will coordinate loan files from application to funding, ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance, and communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and other partners to deliver a smooth lending experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in business, finance, banking, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of mortgage processing, loan servicing, loan administration, or related banking experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines, loan documentation, and applicable regulations, including TRID, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review residential mortgage applications for completeness and compliance.
• Verify borrower information, assets, liabilities, employment history, income, collateral, and terms.
• Serve as a liaison among borrowers, loan officers, bankers, underwriters, title companies, appraisers, and third parties.
• Provide borrowers with timely updates regarding loan status and required documentation.
• Collect required documentation from applicants and follow up on missing items.
• Prepare and issue TRID disclosures and redisclosures (LEs, Closing Disclosures, changes in circumstance, rate-lock docs).
• Maintain knowledge of loan origination and processing systems and regulatory information.
• Order and review credit reports, title reports, appraisals, flood determinations and other docs.
• Review approved loans to verify underwriting and closing conditions.
• Prepare closing packages for residential mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit, personal loans and lines of credit.
• Coordinate loan closing dates and maintain loan calendar for closings and disbursements.
• Balance Closing Disclosures and wire amounts with title companies.
• Prepare funding wires to title companies following procedures.
• Obtain loan payoffs and complete employment verifications.
• Maintain accurate pipeline reports and provide status updates to management.
• Update daily rate sheets and system rates for mortgage, home equity, and consumer loan products.
• Prepare mortgage and home equity modifications and related documents.
• Review consumer loan denials for accuracy and communicate with applicants when necessary.
• Update collateral tracking records upon recording documents.
• Maintain compliant electronic loan files and recurring internal reports.
• Complete annual reporting, file maintenance, and record-retention responsibilities.
• Ensure loan files comply with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy or customer experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
