Job summary

Dekker is seeking a Construction Administrator to join our Commercial studio in El Paso, TX. The role focuses on overseeing construction administration and coordinating with project teams across sizes, with a hands-on approach to field observations and process improvement. This hybrid position requires 3 days onsite in the El Paso area.

Travel to worksites is expected. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in construction administration, strong construction knowledge, and may have AutoCAD or Revit

Qualifications

• 3+ years construction administration or construction management experience.
• Strong knowledge of architecture and construction terminology.
• Ability to understand trade documents and construction terminology.
• Strong construction observation, organization, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.
• Must be able to travel to worksites.
• AutoCAD/Revit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to development and improvement of Construction Administrative process with emphasis on efficiency, quality assurance, and timely project close out.
• Reviews and processes construction administrative tasks such as field observation reports, submittals, RFIs, ASIs and pay applications in a timely manner.
• Represents Dekker in most/all construction progress meetings and conducts field observations.
• Provides oversight for reviews and responses completed by other team members as appropriate.
• Informs Project Manager of major issues or changes that affect cost/time and stakeholder concerns.
• Shares lessons learned from the field with design and quality management teams.
• Builds and maintains favorable relationships with Client, Contractor, and team members.
• Identifies and communicates project progress, accomplishments, challenges, and needs.
