Job summary

Southern California Edison in Pomona, CA is seeking a Components Standards Engineer2 to develop and update design and construction standards for transmission, distribution and substation systems. You will apply engineering expertise to align standards with SCE’s strategic roadmaps and ensure safe, reliable grid operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
• 2+ years of engineering work experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for electrical equipment and systems for proper installation and improvements.
• Ensure system event assessments and RCAs are performed and corrective actions implemented.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design plans for projects and analyses of increasing scope.
• Conduct independent engineering work with guidance on techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Model power systems and perform analyses with software tools and stay informed on guidelines and standards.
