Job summary

SanMar seeks a Compensation Specialist to help review and administer the compensation program in our Issaquah, WA office. You will analyze pay plans, draft descriptions, research market data, and support annual merit and bonus processes with HR partners and managers.

Responsibilities include maintaining job descriptions, providing pay data for new positions, ensuring compliance with FLSA and wage laws, and maintaining compensation data in HRIS systems. Hybrid work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Reporting and Analytics.
• Exposure to compensation practices, terminology and structures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in HRIS and Excel; PowerBI experience preferred.
• Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prepare reports/presentations independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain job description library, drafting and updating job descriptions, evaluating jobs, and determining their classification.
• Complete research and analysis to ensure pay plans and ranges remain competitive; make recommendations for adjustments and compensation program enhancements.
• Support the administration of the annual merit and bonus process including managing data, reviewing changes, and providing logistical support and compensation guidance to HR and managers.
• Provide support for HR partners by supplying appropriate pay grades, ranges and pay data for new positions, new hires, promotions, etc.
• Assist in resolution of routine compensation concerns and respond to issues and questions from managers and employees.
• Help prepare salary survey submissions, market assessments and associated analysis.
• In conjunction with the Compensation and HRIS team, support development and maintenance of compensation data, tables and overall set-up in all HRIS systems.
• Track market trends; generate reports and assist in the development of recommendations and action plans designed to attract, retain, and reward employees.
• Support the audit of pay practices to ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and wage and hour laws; conduct FLSA assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
