Job summary

Univest is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst to support underwriting by analyzing financial information, preparing credit memoranda, and assessing risk. You will partner with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Credit Officers to service customers with confidence and care.

The hybrid role may work from regional offices in Souderton, Doylestown, King of Prussia or Lancaster, PA; relevant experience in commercial lending and strong MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics; other bachelor’s degrees considered with commercial lending experience.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial banking underwriting experience; involves credit risk evaluation, financial statement evaluation, and succinct business writing; knowledge of traditional Commercial & Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, and Small Business Lending.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral; ability to meet compressed deadlines; comfortable interacting with lending teams.
• Formal commercial credit training preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and financial spreading tools.
• nCino/Salesforce experience is preferred.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with other analysts and underwriters.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Underwriting Team Leader, Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Officers during all phases of the commercial underwriting process, including new requests, modifications, renewals, and annual reviews.
• Independently underwrite commercial credit exposures ($1MM- $4MM).
• Organize relevant financial data; spread and evaluate all levels of financial information, including corporate and personal tax returns and personal financial statements.
• Prepare cash flow charts, confirm covenant tests, and assess collateral position.
• Prepare written credit risk assessments for lending teams and credit officers, detailing risks and mitigating factors.
• Complete various compliance and underwriting training courses as assigned.
• Possess strong knowledge of industry policies.
• Accountable for compliance with laws and Univest Code of Conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
