Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist at our Raleigh, North Carolina headquarters. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with our Finance team and remote work flexibility to support company-wide collection efforts.

The Collections Specialist will manage past-due invoices, document collection activities, and coordinate with Operations and clients to improve cash flow. A strong customer service background and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of customer service and collections experience.
• Strong organization and data entry skills with minimal errors.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and double-entry accounting understanding.

Responsibilities

• Pursue collections: contact clients on past-due invoices per contract terms and coordinate with project managers to resolve issues.
• Document all collection activities and client interactions in the AR system for transparency.
• Follow up consistently with project managers and clients until invoices are paid.
• Provide backup support with daily cash receipts processing and AR mailbox monitoring.
• Escalate accounts and accelerate collection efforts for high-risk past-due balances.
