Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in healthcare admin or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare coding experience.
• Knowledge of inpatient, outpatient, and professional coding.
• Experience supervising or managing staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily operations of the medical coding department to ensure accurate coding.
• Coaches and develops coding staff through recruitment and performance management.
• Monitors productivity and quality metrics; implements process improvements.
• Conducts routine coding audits to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Collaborates with providers, HIM, and Revenue Cycle to improve documentation.
• Analyzes data trends, denials, and reimbursement impacts to optimize revenue.
• Develops coding policies and standard work processes for compliance.
• Leads initiatives in coding technology and workflow automation.
