Job summary

MFS is offering a 6-month co-op position in Massachusetts for undergraduate students enrolled in a co-op program. The role focuses on internal controls and fund accounting, with hands-on experience in SOC 1/SOC 2 reviews and vendor payments.

Under the Internal Controls Manager, you will learn risk assessment, process documentation and cross-functional projects, in a hybrid work setup. The program runs Jan 13th–Jun 25th, 2027, 35–40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Undergrad student enrolled in a co-op program.
• Interest in financial services, mutual funds and compliance.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• SOX familiarity is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply internal control techniques within Fund Treasury processes.
• Identify key control points and ensure procedures meet MFS standards.
• Document business processes and maintain internal control documentation in DIVA.
• Instruct and coordinate payment instructions to external vendors.
• Assist in preparation of asset-based fees, expense caps and fund expenses.
• Support risk and internal control projects and ad hoc fund accounting tasks.
