Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Engineer to support a leading technology and government services organization. The role focuses on secure cloud configurations in AWS and Azure, risk remediation, and security automation across ongoing operations.

Ideal candidates have hands-on cloud security experience, familiarity with STIGs/NIST, and strong scripting abilities. This hybrid role requires collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to strengthen security posture and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information security, cybersecurity, or cloud security engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Knowledge of STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, and security frameworks.
• Experience with vulnerability management, risk assessment, and remediation processes.

Responsibilities

• Secure AWS and Azure environments following best practices.
• Assess and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud infra, apps, and services.
• Implement controls aligned with STIGs, CIS, and NIST 800-53.
• Develop automation for security monitoring, remediation, and compliance validation.
• Review cloud architectures and provide security recommendations.
