Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join a leading technology-focused organization in the Research Triangle Park area. The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for securing multi-cloud environments across AWS and Azure, implementing cloud-native security controls, and collaborating with infrastructure and engineering teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in cloud security or information security.
Hands-on experience securing AWS and Azure environments.
Experience with cloud security platforms such as Prisma Cloud, Wiz, Lacework, CrowdStrike, Defender for Cloud, or Security Hub.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS and Azure.
Monitor cloud infrastructure for threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
Partner with engineering/DevOps to integrate security into the SDLC.
Conduct cloud security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability management.
Implement IAM controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
Support incident response for cloud security events.
Develop and maintain security documentation and procedures.
Assist with audits and regulatory compliance.
