Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer to join our development team supporting an Intelligence customer. The role focuses on OpenShift operations, deployments across security domains, and integration with data services.

Required: TS/SCI with polygraph, a Bachelor’s in a technical field, 5+ years of developer experience, and IAT Level II certifications. This is a 100% onsite position based in St Louis, MO or Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities

• Deploy OpenShift to new sites and scale platforms.
• Collaborate with teams to meet integration requirements and security standards.
• Document configurations and deployment procedures.

Job Description Summary:

Work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintain agency wide Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability deployed across multiple security domains. The PaaS environment supports multiple tenants deploying a myriad of application stacks and data services

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• O&M of existing Red Hat OpenShift environment across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments
• Support OpenShift operators and frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps
• Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they come online
• Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms to meet them
• Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions
• Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack
• Compile detailed documentation

Education/Experience:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Can sponsor for a polygraph.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years Developer experience
• Meet 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA
• 100% onsite

Desired Skills:

• Experience deploying and managing RedHat Open Shift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Python, Shell scripting, Git
• Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS
• CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins
• Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general
