Job summary

State Farm is seeking Software Engineers and Lead Software Engineers for its Platform Engineering Team to build and operate resilient, enterprise-grade cloud applications. You will own architecture and implement advanced patterns, focusing on secure, scalable public cloud adoption.

Requirements include cloud engineering experience (AWS preferred), Terraform/OpenTofu, Python, Go, and AI tooling integration. Hybrid work with hub locations near Atlanta, GA, and other markets; compensation reflects

Qualifications

Proven cloud software engineering experience delivering value at scale (AWS preferred; Azure and GCP considered)
A degree in computer science, software or infrastructure engineering, or related fields
Hands-on expertise with cloud platform engineering, infrastructure, and information security
Strong working knowledge of Terraform / OpenTofu, Python, and Go
Experience building or integrating AI tooling / automation into engineering workflows
Solid understanding of industry cloud concepts and services

Responsibilities

Own architecture and implementation of advanced new patterns in our platform
Partner with engineering and support teams to enable secure, scalable public cloud adoption
Turn platform needs into practical solutions production teams can rely on
Build using Terraform, Python, and Go, and apply AI tooling and intelligent automation
Improve infrastructure and operations, increase engineering throughput, deliver scalable platform capabilities aligned to business goals
