Job summary

State Farm is seeking Software Engineers and Lead Software Engineers for our Platform Engineering Team to build and operate resilient, enterprise-grade cloud applications. You’ll own architecture and implement advanced patterns, enabling secure, scalable public cloud adoption.

You’ll work with Terraform, Python, and Go, applying AI tooling to streamline delivery and automation, in a hybrid model within 180 miles of hub locations including Bloomington, IL.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software or infrastructure engineering or related field.

In thisAWS-focused role, you’ll help shape the future of enterprise cloud platform engineering by owningarchitecture and implementation of advanced new patterns in our platform. Qualifications

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

• Provencloud software engineeringexperience delivering value at scale (AWS preferred; Azure and GCP considered)
• A degree in computer science, software or infrastructure engineering, or related fields
• Hands-on expertise withcloud platform engineering,infrastructure, andinformation security
• Strong working knowledge ofTerraform / Open Tofu,Python, andGo
• Experience building or integratingAI tooling / automationinto engineering workflows
• Solid understanding ofindustry cloud concepts and services

Desired (not all required):

• Experience designing and deliveringcloud platform capabilities(AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Proficiency with modernsoftware development practicesand tooling
• A track record ofsolving hard problemswith clear, measurable outcomes
• Strongverbal and written communicationwith the ability to influence partners
• Strongcritical thinkingand sound engineering judgment
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborativeagileenvironment

Our Benefits

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

• Potential starting salary range: $105,000 - $150,000
  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
  • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
