Job summary

NISC is seeking a Network/Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Networking team. You will build KPI dashboards and lead the development of low-latency infrastructure for distributed systems, with emphasis on hybrid cloud topology and containerized networks.

You will mentor peers, manage vendor relationships, and drive security practices across the network. A strong Linux background and experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in networking, cloud infrastructure, systems administration, or related technical field.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, OSPF, BGP, VPNs and network security fundamentals.
• Experience with networking platforms (Palo Alto, SonicWall, Arista, Extreme).
• Linux command-line administration experience.
• Scripting or application development with Python, Java, PowerShell, or similar.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of cloud networking concepts and AWS exposure.
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of high availability, load balancing, disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Build KPI dashboards that track networking and application response time SLAs.
• Lead design and development of low-latency infrastructure for distributed systems.
• Lead hybrid cloud network topology design and build using industry best practices.
• Lead design and build of containerized network topologies.
• Manage key vendor relationships and drive internet connectivity strategy.
• Advise on vulnerability best practices and own resolution.
• Design and automate network patching aligned with Vulnerability Policy.
• Develop maintenance plans and coordinate cross-team impacts.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base.
• Perform compliance audits.
• Own cost-control budget for public cloud usage.
• Leverage generative AI tools to enhance productivity.
