Job summary

IBM is seeking an Entry Level Cloud Infrastructure Network Monitoring and Automation Software Engineer in San Jose, CA. You will develop backend Python services, APIs, and automation pipelines for Day-0 and Day-2 network provisioning and operations.

You will work with OpenShift/Kubernetes, CI/CD, and data platforms like NetBox and CockroachDB, ensuring secure, observable network automation at scale.

Qualifications

• Back-end development in Python with REST API design and data processing (JSON/YAML).
• Git-based collaboration with CI/CD integration.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• REST API design and HTTP fundamentals.
• Automated testing and software quality in production environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement and automate infrastructure solutions: design, develop, and maintain back-end Python microservices for Day-0 and Day-2 automation.
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines in OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Own interfaces between NCS/Axon and SSOT/Hivemind data platforms (NetBox, CockroachDB).
• Support security and compliance: harden containers and write runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on alerting and monitoring.
