Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a senior cloud architect to lead operations for public and private cloud infrastructure across hybrid environments. You will guide landing-zone standards, identity, networking, and security while driving automation and cost optimization.

This role stresses hands-on architecture review, incident response, and collaboration with IT and Enterprise Architecture to align roadmaps for enterprise-scale services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud architecture, data center infra, systems engineering, or tech ops.
• 3+ years of formal people-management or equivalent team leadership experience.
• Experience designing and operating hybrid cloud services at enterprise scale; cloud certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations for public and private cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee hybrid cloud strategy, landing-zone standards, service catalog, and capacity planning.
• Manage incident response, problem management, patching, backup, and recovery.
• Provide hands-on architecture review and escalation support for complex cloud issues.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, compliance, and data protection across estates.
• Drive infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, and self-service provisioning.
• Define service-level objectives, reliability metrics, and capacity trends.
• Lead major incident response and root-cause analysis with actionable follow-up.
• Collaborate with IT Systems and Enterprise Architecture to align roadmaps.
