Job summary
The City of San José Information Technology Department is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead governance and operations of our Azure-based hybrid cloud. You will manage file systems, enterprise storage, backups, and monitoring, while driving automation to improve service levels.
The role requires hands-on experience with Windows Server, AD, and Azure resource management, plus strong scripting abilities. A California driver’s license and MEF-structured certifications are valued.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in CS/CE/MIS or closely related field with 3+ years in enterprise IT environment.
- Experience designing and managing hybrid cloud environments with Azure is required.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, especially PowerShell.
Responsibilities
- Manage Public Cloud (Azure) governance and operations, distributed file systems and enterprise storage.
- System management and monitoring with emphasis on availability and SLAs.
- Provide service improvement through automation.
- Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of infrastructure to ensure service availability.
