Job summary

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield seeks an IT Infrastructure Architect to lead vision, strategy, and delivery of distributed platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. The role collaborates with IT teams to deploy PaaS/SaaS and hybrid solutions that balance security, resiliency, and cost efficiency.

The successful candidate will drive infrastructure design, research technologies, and support enterprise server environments while aligning with business needs and corporate policies.

Qualifications

Level I: In lieu of degree, seven (7) cumulative years related work experience required. Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with four (4) years of related experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Level I: Awareness of security, compliance, and audit policies/procedures.
Level I: Experience with research, design, and implementation in assigned technologies.
Level I: Infrastructure operations and infrastructure project delivery experience essential.
Level I: Scripting and automation experience.
Level I: Strong communication skills.
Level I: Understanding of cloud computing infrastructure and concepts.
Level I: Knowledge of cloud and/or on-prem integration.
Level I: Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of a minimum of three (3) concepts/tools listed (VMware, Windows, Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Nutanix, VMware ESXi, Linux, Windows Server, YAML, JSON, REST API, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD).
Level II: Intermediate knowledge of a minimum of four (4) concepts/tools.
Level II: Intermediate Infrastructure operations and infrastructure project delivery experience.
Level II: Demonstrates strong technical documentation ability.
Level II: Experience with IT computing resource management and optimization.
Level II: High degree of business maturity and confidentiality; good judgment.
Level II: Strong scripting and automation experience.
Level II: Intermediate knowledge of Disaster Recovery.
Level II: Intermediate knowledge of security, compliance, and audit policies/procedures.
Level III: Advanced knowledge of a minimum of four (4) concepts/tools.
Level III: Advanced understanding of Disaster Recovery procedures related to IT infrastructure.
Level III: Ability to provide internal mentorship within team.
Level III: Professional certification in job-related technology.
Level III: Strategic vision in alignment with business objectives.
Level IV: Advanced knowledge of a minimum of five (5) concepts/tools.
Level IV: Leadership/technical leadership and project leadership.
Level IV: Extensive knowledge of hybrid cloud environment.
Level IV: Mentorship for peers.

Responsibilities

Level I: Acts as a high level escalation tier for operational support in assigned technical areas.
Level I: Conducts proof-of-concept testing in a lab environment.
Level I: Creates infrastructure design documents for production deployments.
Level I: Creates, updates, and maintains documentation for technology standards.
Level I: Deploys new technology to production environment.
Level I: Designs infrastructure solutions to support business requirements.
Level I: Ensures technologies align with business.
Level I: Researches and implements hybrid cloud technology.
Level I: Supports high-level strategy for enterprise server environment.
Level I: Gathers IT infrastructure requirements from stakeholders.
Level I: Works with vendors/SMEs to produce corporate standards.
