Job summary

Good co India is seeking a skilled Database Architect to design and lead database-centric solution architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments in the United States.

You will drive migrations, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives, develop high-level and low-level designs, and ensure HA/DR, security, and cost optimization while collaborating with EA, DevOps, Security, and Data teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years in database engineering/architecture or cloud architecture.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or other enterprise databases.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI database and cloud services.
• Proven migration, modernization, HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of AWS DMS, Azure DMS, Always On, Data Guard, GoldenGate or equivalents.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python/PowerShell, CI/CD, Git, and DevOps.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, REST APIs, cloud-native architectures, and database security.
• Strong understanding of IAM/RBAC, encryption, governance, monitoring, and cloud cost optimization.
• Excellent HLD/LLD, solution design, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• AWS/Azure/GCP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Terraform certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead database-centric solution architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Define scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective database architectures aligned with business requirements.
• Lead database migration, modernization, consolidation, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Develop HLD/LLD, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.
• Design HA/DR, backup, recovery, replication, RPO/RTO, and business continuity strategies.
• Drive database performance, scalability, capacity planning, and query optimization.
• Design integrations with APIs, microservices, enterprise applications, and cloud services.
• Establish database security, governance, monitoring, compliance, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Application, Cloud, DevOps, Security, and Data teams.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, mentoring, and resolution of complex database and solution issues.
