Job summary

The WVU Cancer Institute is seeking a Hybrid Data Coordinator to support the Clinical Trials Research Unit in collecting, recording, and reporting study data. You will work with the research team to ensure timely data capture and regulatory documentation for sponsors and industry partners.

The role emphasizes data integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration across departments, with a focus on efficient data flow and compliance for ongoing studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in allied healthcare, biology, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience managing or coordinating data in a research or clinical setting or equivalent.
• Equivalents accepted for related education/experience.
• All qualifications must be met by time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and verifies appropriate clinical source documentation for data reporting.
• Coordinates data collection with the clinical research team for efficient data reporting and regulatory documentation.
• Gathers and extracts patient clinical data for entry into sponsor‑supplied case report forms to measure study progress and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures timely completion of case reports for sponsor review and performs data integrity reviews.
• Maintains patient records with copies of medical records, lab reports, and treatment schedules.
• Updates clinical records while subjects remain on study and revises data as needed.
• Maintains data security and confidentiality of patient/protocol information.
• Manages data archives and backups.
• Provides data for audit by outside agencies.
• Assists with regulatory aspects of protocol including IRB documentation and adverse event reporting.
