Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a Client Relations Specialist to resolve inquiries via calls, chats, emails, and ServiceNow from faculty, staff, and vendors. You will handle financial, HR, payroll, and grants questions, performing Tier 1 transactions and delivering accurate resolutions.

You will work a hybrid schedule with in-person training at Hyde Park, and you will guide users on Oracle Cloud, Workday, and related tools while maintaining thorough documentation and strong customer service

Qualifications

• Education: vocational training or equivalent experience; four-year degree not always required.
• Work experience: 5–7 years in a related job discipline.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and familiarity with university processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and chats; process inquiries related to HR, payroll, finance, budgeting, and grants.
• Analyze inquiries and provide customized solutions and next steps.
• Escalate to appropriate offices as defined in the Service Desk Manual.
• Document customer interactions in the call center system.
• Advise on self-service tools and system navigation (Oracle Cloud and Workday).
• Open, close, and manage requests through ServiceNow.
• Support routine financial report creation.
• Participate in special projects and provide training feedback.
