Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking an Academic Systems Manager to lead the administration of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environments. This role coordinates patches, upgrades, security, and disaster recovery while driving operational excellence and cross-team collaboration.

Strong experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle databases, and ITIL processes is required. Hybrid office environment in the Chicago area, with responsibilities spanning planning, deployment, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or related field.
• 5–7 years of related work experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and ITIL/change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for administration, installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of all PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environments.
• Plan and implement patches and upgrades including PeopleTools and PUM images to minimize downtime.
• Direct migration strategies for customizations with risk mitigation and process improvement.
• Lead environment refreshes and database cloning while ensuring data integrity.
• Set on-call schedules and maintenance windows to ensure service continuity.
• Develop and enforce configuration management and automation standards for production and non-production environments.
• Monitor nightly processing and infrastructure performance; optimize to ensure high availability.
• Provide tier-3 support and guidance to teams; coordinate vendor escalations as needed.
• Collaborate with teams to support security, change management, and disaster recovery planning.
