Job summary

Stevans & Associates, PLLC, a growing regional tax, accounting, and business advisory firm, seeks a Client Accounting & Advisory Services Manager to deliver fractional accounting leadership for diverse clients in a hybrid setting.

You will lead close processes, provide insights to improve profitability, mentor staff, and collaborate with tax professionals using QuickBooks Online, Xero, and cloud-based tools. CPA/CMA is preferred; travel to clients is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• Active CPA and/or CMA designation or willingness to obtain within two years.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public or outsourced/advisory settings.
• Experience managing multiple clients, projects, and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present financial information to owners and leadership.
• Flexible hybrid work arrangement with some travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Accounting Manager or fractional Controller for a portfolio of clients.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review financial statements and provide analysis to clients and leadership.
• Manage accounting projects including system implementations and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain client budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and KPIs.
• Provide proactive financial insights to improve operations and profitability.
• Manage and train Staff Accountants.
• Collaborate with tax department on proactive tax planning.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff on client engagements.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Assist clients with software selection, implementation, training, and optimization.
• Participate in client meetings as a trusted business advisor.
• Work with cloud-based solutions (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp, Microsoft 365).
• Identify opportunities to expand services and enhance client experience.
