Job summary

Benesch, a growing planning, engineering, and professional services firm, seeks a Civil Site Designer II to join the Civil Site and Land Development team in Franklin or Nashville, TN. You will support planning, design, and delivery of civil site projects alongside engineers, designers, and project managers.

You will build technical expertise, work on varied projects, and assume increasing responsibility as you grow your career with Benesch.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in civil site design, land development, municipal engineering, or related field.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and data.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• E.I.T. certification or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil site and land development plans under supervision.
• Assist with site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, erosion control, and related activities.
• Prepare plans, profiles, details, exhibits, calculations, and documentation.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop and produce construction documents.
• Assist with grading, utility, drainage plans and other project deliverables.
• Review plans for accuracy and compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, surveyors, architects, and other disciplines.
• Support project meetings and site visits as needed.
• Apply design standards, codes, and regulations to assignments.
• Manage tasks to meet schedules and quality expectations.
• Develop independence and technical responsibility; mentor junior team members.

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
