Job summary
Invenergy is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support development through construction, overseeing civil/structural design for utility-scale energy projects. This role is part of the Civil & Structural Engineering Team and involves value engineering to optimize costs and construction estimates.
The position operates on a hybrid schedule in Chicago with in-office work Monday-Thursday and remote Fridays when permitted, and it integrates collaboration with multiple internal teams to review
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical/Environmental/Water Resources Engineering required.
- 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with civil/structural codes (UBC, IBC, ASCE, AISC, ASTM, AWS) and other design specs.
- On-site experience delivering engineering solutions.
- US-work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Provide due diligence site assessment for development-stage projects.
- Develop conceptual mass grading plans and earthwork calculations.
- Review civil/structural design packages for compliance and optimization.
- Collaborate with electrical/transmission teams on foundations and racking.
- Manage contractor RFIs, submittals, and bid processes.
- Assist with cost estimates and project schedules.
- Support SWPPP and geotechnical investigations.
