Job summary

gpac is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney in Seattle, WA. The attorney will handle a range of civil matters, participate in case strategy, motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation, with regular client interaction.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the litigation team.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Washington State.
• 3–5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong motion practice, research, writing, and oral advocacy.
• Ability to manage litigation matters with increasing independence.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters through various stages of the litigation process.
• Communicate directly with clients and assist in developing practical litigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and evidence.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, settlement documents, and legal correspondence.
• Handle written discovery and participate in discovery-related matters.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare for hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
• Present oral arguments on motions and other contested matters.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as appropriate.
• Evaluate cases and provide clients with thoughtful advice regarding litigation strategy and potential resolution.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and legal professionals while managing assigned responsibilities independently.
