Job summary

STV seeks an enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern to join our Chicago team. This hybrid internship requires at least 3 days in the office and offers the chance to work with experienced engineers on meaningful projects.

Preference for a 3+ month commitment and potential full-time work. Responsibilities include assisting design from concept to completion, collaborating with architects and environmental engineers, and interfacing with clients and regulators to address project issues.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing civil engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring regulatory and project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and stakeholders to integrate project elements.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and agencies to address project-related issues and support success.
• Support feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments for informed design.
• Prepare technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
• Contribute to engineering designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related tools.
• Learn and apply current engineering standards on assigned projects.
• Assist in preparing proposals and documentation for engineering projects.
• Perform additional tasks to support project goals.
