Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Associate Merchant to drive merchandising for assigned categories in Marlborough, MA. You will help develop sales and margin plans, manage open-to-buy, and collaborate with vendors to optimize pricing, assortments, and presentation.

This hybrid role requires 2–5 years in merchandising or retail operations, a Bachelor’s degree, strong analytics, negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations related field.
• 2–5 years of professional merchandising or retail operations experience.
• Knowledge of vendor negotiation techniques.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates on the development of sales and margin plans and sales forecasts for assigned categories.
• Manages open-to-buy positioning and buys merchandise for assigned categories.
• Participates in negotiations directly with vendors on merchandise pricing, quantity, delivery and terms.
• Identifies and implements merchandising packaging and presentation techniques to enhance productivity and execution.
• Provides recommendations on assortments and planograms based on consumer trends and business needs.
• Reviews advertising and promotion analytics to evaluate performance and refine merchandising plans.
