Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Category Merchant to lead strategy and growth for assigned product categories within a hybrid Marlborough, MA environment. You will manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and drive assortment plans to achieve financial targets.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 4+ years in merchandising or category management. Expect cross-functional collaboration and a data-driven approach to pricing and promotions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the performance of assigned categories including driving growth, category profitability and customer experience.
• Develop competitive merchandise assortment plans that meet financial objectives.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with new, existing and prospective vendors.
• Build strong relationships with vendors and adapt negotiation approaches as needed.
• Oversee sales and margin plans and forecasts for assigned categories.
• Collaborate with marketing to shape pricing, promotions and campaigns.
