Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services is seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies, oversee assortment, pricing, and promotions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, vendor relations, and leadership within a fast-paced retail environment. Hybrid work with office presence required at Glen Rock, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of retail buying, category management, merchandising, or procurement experience.
• Strong experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
• Experience with PDI and retail reporting platforms preferred.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and leverage data to drive business decisions.
• Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales growth and margins.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising plans for assigned categories.
• Analyze sales, margins, market data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Lead annual vendor negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Develop joint business plans with key suppliers and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance on category execution.
• Mentor and develop junior Commercial team members.
