Job summary

University of Southern California’s Employee and Labor Relations team seeks a Case Resolution Specialist to conduct impartial investigations, provide guidance on employment policies, and support resolution of workplace concerns. Hybrid work with three days onsite in Downtown Los Angeles.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in resolving disputes or conducting investigations, with knowledge of ADA, FMLA, NLRA and CBAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; five years resolving workplace disputes or related conflict resolution experience
• Experience conducting workplace investigations in a large organization
• Knowledge of employment laws and labor agreements; ability to interpret CBAs and regulations
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to present complex issues clearly
• Experience with case management systems and training dissemination

Responsibilities

• Conduct impartial, confidential trauma-informed interviews and fact-finding meetings to investigate complaints
• Document and maintain records in case management system with timely updates
• Develop recommendations and actions for resolutions and draft informal/formal resolution plans
• Provide outreach and training on resolving workplace concerns per university policies
• Advise leadership on performance management and disciplinary processes with discretion
• Interpret policies and labor guidance to ensure compliant practices
