Job summary

Voices for Independence is seeking a Pre-ETS Instructor to help students with disabilities prepare for life after high school. You will guide career exploration, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and post-secondary planning while connecting students with real-world job experiences.

The role involves fieldwork, remote work, and office time, with local travel to schools and partner sites. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree or equivalent experience and a passion for supporting youth with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 2 years of related experience in place of a degree.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably youth.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration, and insurance.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
• Must obtain criminal and child abuse clearances.

Responsibilities

• Lead group and one-on-one lessons on employment skills, self-advocacy, and education planning.
• Coordinate work-based learning opportunities such as internships, job shadows, and workplace tours.
• Assist students with applications, scholarships, and campus visits for post-secondary programs.
• Collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to support student goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet reporting requirements.
• Travel locally within Erie County to schools, worksites, and partner locations.
