Job summary

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks Academic Career Advisors to create career pathways and expand opportunities for students in New York’s emerging industries. You will work with Industry Specialists to support cohorts of undergraduate students, connecting them with relevant internships or full-time opportunities.

The position is based at Hunter College, on-site four days a week with one remote day, and is grant-funded through June 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience in academic or career advising.
• Ability to develop career pathways and connect students with internships or jobs.
• Comfort with technology to track programs and outcomes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create group and 1:1 activity to help students identify career goals and courses.
• Develop cohort identity as a peer network and guide internship planning.
• Assess students’ professional development at multiple points during the program.
• Participate in university-wide professional development and mentoring initiatives.
• Collaborate with academic departments on employer insights that influence curricula.
