MSU Federal Credit Union is seeking a Call Center Member Service Specialist to deliver high-quality, phone-based member support and promote products to improve members’ financial wellbeing.

The role requires effective communication, problem solving, and a security-minded approach. This is a hybrid position with training and a HQ/ East Lansing presence, offering a 40-hour week with variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to provide exceptional member support across routine inquiries.
• Active listening and communication skills with empathetic approach.
• Strong sales skills with ability to meet goals.
• Problem solving and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior member service across all channels with accuracy and professionalism.
• Conduct secure member verification before processing transactions to prevent fraud.
• Deliver timely and accurate service primarily via phone with empathy and urgency.
• Identify and sell products and services to enhance member experience and meet goals.
• Maintain knowledge of Credit Union offerings and fintech solutions to support financial wellness.
• Take ownership of escalated concerns and resolve issues with sound judgment.
• Troubleshoot issues related to online/mobile banking and digital tools.
• Assist with basic loan servicing and other financial requests in compliance with policies.
