Job summary

General Motors is seeking a CAE Engineer to lead analytical modeling and structural analyses for vehicle designs. You will develop new CAE capabilities, run FEA plans, and coordinate with CAE suppliers and GM teams to ensure performance targets are met.

You will perform analyses across BIW, chassis, interiors, and modules, translating results into actionable design improvements while staying current with CAE trends and technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in CAE/engineering role with related experience.
• Proficient with CAD and FEA tools (Abaqus, Nastran, Dyna).

Responsibilities

• Gather information from multiple sources and build analytical models for GM projects.
• Lead development of new engineering analysis capabilities and participate with Product Development teams.
• Create and execute FEA plans; lead suppliers and internal resources to meet milestones.
• Perform structural analysis on complete vehicle structures and related modules to assess performance.
• Plan and implement test/development programs to enhance CAE capabilities and validate results.
• Explain CAE results to validation and release teams and drive design solutions to meet mass and cost targets.
