Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN seeks a Drafter to create and maintain engineering documentation using CAD. You will model components, assemble drawings, and produce manufacturing detail drawings, while processing change requests and ensuring GD&T and ANSI standards are followed.

The role requires an associate degree in drafting or related fields; a bachelor’s in engineering technology is preferred. A hybrid schedule and collaboration with Designers and Engineers are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting, Drafting Design, Electronics and Electrical/Mechanical Technology required.
• Bachelor's Degree with engineering technology related disciplines preferred.
• Drafter I: 0-2 years of experience with associate's degree
• Drafter II: 2+ years of experience with associate's otherwise four (4) plus years related experience.
• Basic understanding of industry drafting standards (ANSI)
• Understand the application of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with CAD software preferred.
• Ability to technically communicate with Designers and Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Learn and process engineering change requests utilizing engineering sketches and annotated drawings.
• Specify and document dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Document parts by modeling simple 3D models, adding coordinate systems, and create detail drawings for manufacturing.
• Create SAP Bill of Material reports
• Participate in quality initiatives and training as required.
