Job summary

TechServ Engineering seeks a CAD Drafter to develop and revise drawings for utility design, permit applications, and telecommunications in an in-office role in Tyler, TX. You will plot drawings, follow drafting standards, and support Designers and Engineers on multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of drafting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to learn new CAD software. Valid US work authorization and driver's license are required.

General Summary

The CAD Drafter is responsible for developing and revising drawings for utility design, permit applications, and telecommunications. The CAD Drafter successfully plots drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; submit permit applications to regional transportation departments. The CAD Drafter will assist technical teams of Designers and Engineers.

Essential Functions

• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings.
• Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
• Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design and permitting problems.
• Use CAD Software for Client projects after being trained.
• Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information are stored in a logical and well-structural manner.
• Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.
• Work with leaders and team members to facilitate/support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting and standing required.
• Occasional need to lift, pull, carry, and push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to always handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner.
• Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and Company needs.

Environmental/Working Conditions

• Works in a routine office environment.
