Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Design / Drafting, Associate Specialist in California to design, estimate, and finalize work orders for field construction projects. You will create CAD drawings, analyze power systems, and support cost estimates while collaborating with the New Business planning team.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency (AUD/AutoCAD), knowledge of SAP/S4HANA/SharePoint, and a hybrid work mode with some remote days.

Qualifications

One or more years of experience in CAD drafting or completion of a CAD certificate (or equivalent CAD coursework).

Responsibilities

Creates accurate and detailed design drawings, diagrams, maps, and plans for utility distribution and telecommunication systems using CAD software.
Assists with creating visualization deliverables including detailed plans, profiles, schematics, renderings, animations, and documentation for design review and construction.
Leverages geospatial data into drawings and models.
Performs load flow, short circuit, and power quality analyses to validate electrical designs.
Assists with work order costing, labor estimates and supplemental form completion; updates online service requests.
Checks planners redlines for accuracy and completeness.
Prepares and revises design sketches for proposals and authorizations; evaluates clearance requirements and regulations.
Completes engineering calculations in AUD (cable pulling, voltage drop, flicker, etc.).
Supports design on smaller scale projects (residential or small commercial).
Protects company data and assets with high standards of conduct and integrity.
