Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Design/Drafting Specialist for the Antelope Valley District Planning Team. You will deliver electrical designs from concept through execution with independence, creating precise CAD drawings and scaled work order maps using AUD and AutoCAD, while preparing pricing, contracts, and easements.

You will mentor others, drive continuous improvement, and elevate design standards to support safe, reliable power systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum CAD drafting experience or a CAD certificate (or equivalent coursework).
• Preference for experience with electric utility design and AUD.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed CAD drawings, diagrams, maps for utility distribution and telecom systems.
• Produce visualization deliverables: plans, profiles, schematics, renderings and documentation.
• Incorporate geospatial data and surveys into drawings and models.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and power quality analyses to validate designs.
• Assist with work order costing, labor estimates and forms; update service requests.
• Review redlines for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare design sketches for proposals and ensure compliance with standards.
