Job summary

TPC Wire & Cable Corp. in the United States (Ohio) is seeking a Design Engineer I who rapidly scopes and designs customized cable assemblies, producing AutoCAD drawings, creating bills of materials, and sourcing components.

You will provide real-time support to production teams and build a foundation in engineering, product development, and manufacturing support. The role offers exposure to engineering, sourcing, product management, and production, with opportunities to grow into expanded

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience.
Proficiency with CAD-CAM software; 2D & 3D drafting preferred.
Strong organizational and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Partner with Technical Sales Engineers on market analysis and catalog requirements.
Respond to customer, distributor, and intermediary questions during quoting.
Design products with a focus on connectorized solutions and production capabilities.
Coordinate component sourcing with suppliers and internal teams.
Maintain product specifications, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints and related documents.
Create AutoCAD drawings and work instructions.
Create part records in the Epicor ERP system.
Support Product Management, Sourcing and Production with questions.
Participate in internal R&D projects to develop new products.
