Job summary

TPC Wire & Cable Corp. is seeking a Design Engineer I to rapidly scope and design customized cable assemblies. You will produce AutoCAD drawings, create a complete BOM, source components, and provide real-time production support.

This role offers exposure to engineering, sourcing, product development, and manufacturing support. You will collaborate with Technical Sales Engineers, respond to quotes, and help develop new products while maintaining specifications and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience.
• Proficiency with CAD-CAM software and related programs; 2D & 3D drafting preferred.
• Strong organizational and writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Work with Technical Sales Engineers on market analysis to determine customer needs and catalogue requirements.
• Respond to customer, distributor and intermediary questions during quoting.
• Design and develop products with a focus on connectorized solutions, production capabilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Coordinate component sourcing with suppliers and internal resources in purchasing and production.
• Maintain product specifications, compliance and regulatory requirements for all products.
• Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints and related documents, consulting with engineers and managers.
• Rapidly and accurately design basic AutoCAD drawings and work instructions.
• Create part records within the Epicor ERP system.
• Respond to questions from Product Management, Sourcing and Production departments.
• Participate in internal R&D projects to develop new products and capabilities.
